Propshaft for manual Freelander 11
I should of spent properly the first time around purchasing a quality prop for which GKN is OE. Having purchased a much cheaper product from elsewhere only to experience vibration worse than the original, then to be told its the "vehicle" has been very costly indeed. after removing the prop and having it balanced 3 times, ( no improvement) & a 2nd replacement still horrendous. 4 new tyres, new genuine drive shafts, dual mass and engine/gearbox mounts still horrendous. I ended up buying yet another second-hand prop which got rid of the vibration but had noisy centre bearing thus confirming it was a prop issue, which on a manual cant be replaced without cutting the prop and there lies the problem! After a phone call with GKN these guys were recommended. Paid for extra carriage and the garage received the prop couple of days later. Now fitted and driven few hundred miles. Drives as it did when brand-new as have owned from new. these guys delivered as promised & the prop is fantastic. having spent 3 years trying to resolve the vibration I just wished I had spent more on buying an OE prop first time around. thank you Maltings 4X4 the only reason I rated at 4* and not 5* was I did request a phone call, as wanted to talk to someone to ensure I was ordering the correct part. they had e-mailed apparently but didn't find that for several days as they all went in the spam folder
