OF POWERboost servo kit to fit EARLY Land Rover 90/110/130 (Pre 300tdi)
Check list- Will this fit your Early Defender?
- Your Defender does not have ABS
- Your Defender has 2 pipes coming from the master cylinder (See product photos to confirm master cylinder)
- Your Defender is running a horizontally mounted master cylinder (See product photos to confirm master cylinder)
- Your Defender was made before ~ 1992
- Your Defender was originally a 2.5 NA/2.5TD/V8/200tdi
So what is it?
This kit allows you to remove your original Brake Servo, bolt on the LOF POWERboost ring to your brake pedal box and then install a later model, stronger ABS servo in its place, Part number SJG100240. Using this adapter from LOF, you can then re-mount a later style brake master cylinder to the later, more powerful, double diaphragm servo, leaving your resevoir/ cylinder in the correct orientation. By doing this you double up on the servo assistance given to the master cylinder, reducing pedal effort and vastly improving braking performance! So much so the testing so far has shown braking to be significantly better than even an ABS Defender!
*The new brake servo part number SJG100240 does not have to be purchased from us, you can use a 2nd hand one or one sourced from else where, please ensure it is a Double Diaphragm servo (2 sets of crimpings) *some of the cheaper ones appear to only have 1 diaphragm*
Tools needed to fit:
- 10/11/13/14 mm spanner
- 13mm socket + ratchet
- Flat head screw driver
- Pick / small screwdriver for removing a split pin
- Brake fluid + Brake lines
Additional parts needed to fit:
- You will need a new 2 port master cylinder from a late ABS Defender (LR013017)
- New brake lines made to suit
- SJG100240 Late ABS Servo
